📏 Poggendorff Illusion
Do these two diagonal lines look aligned? Try to adjust the blue line on the right until it perfectly connects to the one on the left, then click "Reveal Path"!
🧠 The Interruption Trick
The Poggendorff illusion demonstrates how our brains struggle to maintain a straight geometric path when it is interrupted by a solid object. Most people will set the right-hand line much lower than it should be.
Scientists believe this happens because the brain misinterprets the angle of the line as it enters and exits the bar. Your visual system tends to "flatten" the diagonal slightly, making the exit point look higher than the entry point. It's a glitch in how we process 2D shapes that overlap!
